This Privacy Policy explains how UNLIPARSE ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and free data extraction tools (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect
We designed UNLIPARSE to be usable without creating an account. We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve the Service:
- Documents and images you upload (PNG, JPG, PDF, TIFF, SVG, WebP, GIF, BMP) for the purpose of data extraction. These files may contain information you provide intentionally, including any personal data visible in the document.
- Extraction templates that you create or upload to define the output structure.
- Technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited — used for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics.
- Cookies and local storage for essential functions such as language preference, session identifiers, and locally saved templates. See "Cookies and Local Storage" below.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process the documents and images you upload so the Service can return the extracted key-value data points.
- Operate, maintain, monitor, and improve the Service.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases under the GDPR (and equivalent laws) to process your personal data. For a fuller account of how we comply with the GDPR and your rights as a data subject, see our GDPR Notice.
The lawful bases on which we rely include:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the Service you request, such as performing data extraction on a document you submit.
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and understand aggregate usage. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
- Consent — where you have given us specific consent (for example, for non-essential cookies). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Legal obligations — to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or lawful requests from public authorities.
4. How Documents Are Processed
When you submit a document or image to UNLIPARSE, the file is transmitted securely to a trusted third-party AI processing provider that performs the visual and language analysis required to extract structured data. We do not retain a copy of your uploaded file on our servers after the extraction is complete.
The third-party processor operates under its own terms of service and privacy policy and may temporarily process your content to perform the requested extraction. We select providers that we reasonably believe maintain appropriate security and confidentiality practices, but we do not control their internal operations. Please avoid uploading documents that contain information you are not authorized to share.
6. Do Not Track and Privacy Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") signal that tells websites you do not want to be tracked. Because there is no industry-wide standard for interpreting DNT, the Service does not currently respond to DNT signals.
Where required by applicable law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control ("GPC"). You can also exercise the choices described in "Your Rights" below at any time.
7. Data Retention
Uploaded documents and images are processed transiently and are not retained on our servers after the extraction request is fulfilled.
Limited server and security logs (which may contain technical metadata such as IP addresses and timestamps) may be retained for a short period to operate, secure, and audit the Service.
Templates and preferences saved in your browser remain there until you clear your browser data.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to send you marketing communications or to build advertising profiles based on your use of the Service. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (such as the third-party AI processing provider, hosting providers, and analytics processors), under appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations.
- Legal requirements: when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Protection of rights: to enforce our Terms of Service, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect the rights, safety, or property of UNLIPARSE, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or notify you of any material change.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service relies on a small number of third-party providers to operate, including the AI processing provider that performs the document extraction, infrastructure and hosting providers, content-delivery networks, and (where used) analytics and abuse-prevention providers.
The Service may also display links to websites or resources that we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of any third-party site. When you follow a link to an external site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies — we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third party you interact with.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data. If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, please also see our GDPR Notice for detailed information about each of these rights and how to exercise them.
These rights may include:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- The right to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- The right to restrict or object to certain processing.
- The right to data portability.
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
- For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
11. Children's Privacy
UNLIPARSE is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
12. International Data Transfers
Because the Service and our processors may operate from servers located in various countries, your information may be transferred to, processed in, or stored in jurisdictions outside of your own — including jurisdictions whose data protection laws differ from those of your home country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your data during such transfers.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and abuse-prevention mechanisms such as CAPTCHA. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You upload documents to UNLIPARSE at your own risk.
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authorities and affected individuals as required by applicable law.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to provide additional notice (for example, by posting a prominent notice on the Service). We encourage you to review the policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
