What kinds of GIFs can I extract data from?
Any GIF that shows labeled information — screen-recorded forms, dashboard and analytics captures, app and settings walkthroughs, animated data cards, and product slideshows, plus screenshots of IDs, receipts, and records saved as GIF. Wherever a label sits next to a value on a frame, the tool can pull the pair.
Can I extract data from an animated GIF?
Yes — that's exactly what it's built for. Extraction runs one frame at a time, so you choose the frame that holds the data you want and the tool reads only that one. To pull data from another frame, select it and run again.
How do I choose which frame to extract from?
After uploading, use the frame preview controls — Prev/Next buttons, the frame-number box, or the dropdown selector — to navigate to the frame you want. Whatever frame is on screen is the frame the extractor processes.
What data does the extractor actually pull from a frame?
It returns key-value pairs from the visible frame — field names and entries, metric labels and numbers, ID and reference numbers, dates, names, prices, and totals — ready to export as JSON, CSV, Excel, or XML.
How does automatic extraction work on a GIF frame?
Pick Automatic mode and the tool reads your selected frame, then links each label to its value on its own — no field map, no template. It's the fastest route for a one-off capture or an unfamiliar layout.
When should I define my own fields instead?
Choose Manual mode for layouts you process again and again — a standard form, a recurring dashboard, a fixed record screen. Name the keys yourself (Full Name, ID No., Metric, Total) and add an optional hint to each so every frame comes back with the same fields in the same order.
Can I extract data from a screen-recording or screenshot GIF?
Yes — those are the most common sources. Record a form being filled, a dashboard, or a portal as a GIF, or save a single-frame screenshot as GIF, and the tool pulls the labeled values straight from the frame you pick.
Can I reuse the same fields across many GIFs or frames?
Yes. Build your keys in Manual mode and download them as a JSON or CSV template, then upload that template the next time a matching GIF comes in to recreate the fields instantly. You can also export the current fields whenever you want a backup.
Can I fix the results before downloading?
Every extracted row is editable — overwrite a value, rename a key, add a field the AI skipped, or remove one you don't need. What you confirm in the table is exactly what lands in the file, and you can save the finished layout as a reusable result template.
Which export formats are available, and when would I use each?
Reach for JSON in code and pipelines; CSV horizontally (a row per capture) for roll-ups or vertically (key and value per row) for close reading; Excel (.xlsx) in either layout for analysts; and XML when another system expects it.
Do GIFs have frames the way a PDF has pages?
In a sense, yes — each frame of an animated GIF works like a page you can select, which is why GIF, PDF, and TIFF all show frame or page controls. Single-image formats like PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, and SVG are read in one pass with nothing to choose.
Does transparency or a high frame count cause any problems?
No. Transparent frames are read as shown, and a GIF with hundreds of frames is fine — you simply navigate to the one you need. Only the frame you select is processed, so frame count never slows down a single extraction.
Is there a file-size limit?
Each file can be up to 50 MB. Animated GIFs can grow large, so if your file is over the limit, trim the number of frames or reduce the dimensions before uploading — or reach out about scaling for heavier files.
What other file types can I upload?

Is my uploaded GIF kept or shared?
